Bachelor of Chinese Medicine (Hons)
About
The Bachelor of Chinese Medicine (Honours) programme at UTAR is designed to cultivate highly skilled Chinese Medicine practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of the field. Students will gain in-depth knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, diagnostic methods, and treatments, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other therapeutic techniques. Additionally, the programme incorporates elements of Western medical sciences and diagnostic approaches, ensuring a well-rounded education.
UTAR’s Chinese Medicine degree programme offers a diverse curriculum, with 60% focused on Chinese Medicine and 30% on Western Medicine. Students will develop a strong foundation in key areas such as Chinese materia medica, acupuncture, and Tui-Na (therapeutic massage).
To enhance practical skills and clinical expertise, students have the opportunity to complete clinical training in local hospitals, hospitals in China, or both. They may also undergo practical training at the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wing of the newly established UTAR Hospital in Kampar, gaining hands-on experience in a professional healthcare setting.
