Taylor鈥檚 University School of Communication (SOC) has recently announced its admission intake for听interested candidates in the Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) programme. The course is designed to听ensure a holistic development from self-discovery, to relationship competency and progressively to听leadership formation.听
According to the Dean of SOC, Ms. Josephine Tan Lian Lei, the curriculum lays the foundation for a听conceptual and analytical understanding of the applied aspects in psychology. 鈥淭his course prepares听students for a research career as well as a stepping stone to continue their education in a Masters听programme. The syllabus underwent a stringent review process, in accordance with the Malaysian听Qualifications Agency.鈥澨�
As a key feature to aid their educational progress, students from the second year will undertake an听experiential learning of group dynamics through a system called PODZ. They will have an opportunity to听share their highlights and challenges of the course; personal experiences or discuss case studies with听their designated team.听
Dr. Johnben Loy, Founder and Clinical Director of Rekindle Centre for Systemic Therapy, felt that the听degree鈥檚 emphasis on self-discovery, interpersonal mastery and growing the leader will help students听attain the necessary skills and capabilities to take their productive place as leaders in the global听community. 鈥淚 am very excited that Malaysia will have a psychology programme delivered at a top-notch听university that will draw upon leading-edge knowledge in psychology 鈥� the art as well as the science 鈥� to听grow students in personal and life-changing ways,鈥� he accounted.听
Additionally, the undergraduate course epitomises the essence of the Taylor鈥檚 SHINE Award programme.听Participating students will undergo a journey which uncovers four learning packages to help develop five听critical skills: Collaboration, Communication, Cultural Adaptation, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving,听and Creativity & Innovation. The three-year course is available to students in the Arts and Science听stream with a minimum entry requirement of CGPA 2.00.
